Busy and growing Industrial Packaging Company located in the Newton Heath of Manchester are seeking a competent and responsible HR and compliance officer who will be involved in the operations of the business. The candidate must have strong computer skills, working in primarily in Excel and PowerPoint.

Daily tasks will primarily be within human resource however they will also include supporting the office where necessary as well as managing the compliance requirements for the business.

This position will also be responsible for several reports. Managing your time and checking paperwork will be a crucial element of your job and so you must feel comfortable in sending reports on for senior management review.

This role is ideal for someone seeking a varied, busy, and rewarding role that offers constant opportunity for development within a commercial setting.

The role is based on working Monday to Friday (8.30am – 5.30pm) however can be flexible and salary will be based on previous experience.

 

Job Title: Human Resource and Compliance Officer

Position reports toGeneral Manager

Salary – £23,500.00 – £26,000.00 plus performance related bonus system.

Responsibility’s 

Human Resources

Develop and maintain a HR Management system for the company in line with ISO accreditation. To include time management, absenteeism, disciplinary and training records.

Assisting management to understand and implement policies and procedures. Liaising with those involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety.

Recruiting staff, which involves job descriptions, preparing adverts, checking applications, and shortlisting for interviews.

Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management.

Preparing Staff handbooks; advising on pay and other remuneration issues.

Setting and taking HR meeting with staff to resolve any issues.

Administering payroll – Calculating time sheets on a weekly basis. Managing the holiday system ensuring there is always adequate cover. Processing through parole system.

Maintaining staff records. Interpreting and advertising on employment law. Developing HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements.

Planning and sometimes delivering training – including inductions for new staff.

Analysing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers. Reporting system to be developed.  Creating a timeline for the agreed training and ensuring management and supervisor’s follow.

Weekly and Monthly reporting to management.

Moving records from paper files to electronic versions.

 

Company Compliance

Ensuring the company compliance register is kept up to date and all memberships and training requirements are met.

These include ISO, Environmental, SHEQ, Hazardous Waste Alert Systems, First Aid, Health and Safety.

Organising external training – ensuring the company is always complaint. Working with auditors for both ISO and BAM.
